Hadley Fraser excelled as Javert giving a performance that added an interesting new depth to the character.
Matt Lucas and Katy Secombe as the Thénardiers clearly enjoyed their new roles as much as the audience.
Craig Mather as Marius and Lisa-Anne Wood made an endearingly youthful Marius and Cosette. Liam Tamne was a very strong Enjolras while Alexia Khadime gave a heart-breaking performance as Eponine.
The new orchestrations sounded wonderful in the extended orchestra pit.
The cast celebrated a great evening at the after show party which was also attended O2 concert performers Ramin Kaimloo, Nick Jonas and John Owen-Jones.
